prior experience
No, absolutely not! We are always happy to share our passion for sled dogs with “newbies”. So you don’t have to worry if you haven’t been on a sled before, we will give you a crash course in dog sledding and our dogs are all well trained and listen to guests easily.
Fitness Level
Here in Lapland we are a hardy bunch, and our tours take place in all weathers – so be ready! It could be windy, icy or snowy but that won’t stop us having an incredible experience together.
Our 5 days tours require a medium to high level of fitness. We cross varied terrain and you must be fit enough to help your team and push your sled sometimes. For our 9 day expeditions a high level of fitness is required.
During the whole tour we all help out with taking care of the dogs, feeding them, preparing a straw bed for them. As a team we also help with fetching water, firewood, cooking and washing the dishes.
Where do we stay
The fist and the last night you will be staying in our fully equipped guesthouse, with shower, sauna and wifi. You will be sharing a room with twin beds.
When out on tour we will be staying in Wilderness cabins, that are of the grid. We heat the cabin with firewood and fetch water in the nearby river and use candlelight. They have one shared room and bunkbeds to sleep in. There is an outside dry toilet.
meals included
Yes, during all accommodation and meals are included the whole tour including the stay in the guest house before and after the sled tour.
Age
Minimum age for our Multi-Day-Tours is 18 years.
But there is also a possibility for a family to book a private tour, where it might be possible for children to drive a team at a younger age. Just get in touch with us and we will find the best way!
Northern lights
Yes, we also get Northern Lights around here. Why you have a very good chance of seeing them on our husky tours and the best time to go can be found here.
