Arctic Expedition

Experience an Arctic Expedition with Our Crew

Have you ever heard of Amundsen, Nansen or Shackleton? Many of us grew up fascinated by their legendary tales, dreaming of one day experiencing the wild solitude of the Arctic, just like the explorers of the Golden Age of Polar Exploration. If you’ve ever wanted to feel that sense of adventure, our Expedition is your chance for that.

Like an Arctic Expedition: 9-Day Tour

We’re here to help you turn that dream into reality. Our 9-day expedition brings you closer than ever to what those early explorers experienced. The journey begins with the most critical aspect of any expedition: logistics. On the first day, you’ll become more than just a guest; you’ll be an active member of the expedition. Everyone participates in packing supplies and preparing the sleds for the adventure that lies ahead. After a hearty dinner on the first night, you’ll wake up the next morning ready to dive into the Arctic wilderness. For the next seven days, you’ll journey deep into the Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve with your team of sled dogs, many of whom are racing legends. Each night, you’ll sleep in tents, just as the Arctic explorers did, cooking meals, drying clothes, and listening to the sounds of the dogs resting peacefully outside your tent. It’s a unique experience that brings you closer to the wild. You’ll traverse mountain ridges, cross expansive lakes and rivers, and navigate through narrow forest trails. There will be challenging uphill climbs where teamwork is essential, as you and your team push to reach the summit together. As any true explorer knows, proper clothing is crucial. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with essential gear: a winter overall, boots, warm mittens, and working gloves.

Meet Our Experienced Guides

While our guides haven’t conquered the South or North Pole (yet, I mean you never know, right?), their expertise in dog sledding is nothing short of impressive. The team is led by World Champion Petter Karlsson himself. Petter has been active in dog sledding for over 20 years, winning many titles like the European Championship, the Grand Odyssee in France and 4 times the Finnmarksløpet, the longest sled dog race in Europe. Since Petter will also race in the upcoming season, we’ve brought on two additional seasoned guides for this year’s tours, Julie and Gabri. Both have extensive experience in the sled dog sport across Sweden, Norway, and Finland, and have competed in numerous races. They’ll teach you the basics of mushing, share their secrets, and regale you with incredible stories of winters spent with dogs in Lapland.
