Meet our Sled Dogs
This is our dogs
Every dog in our kennel is special and unique
…whether they are a veteran racer who now licks our puppies into shape, a sprightly yearling with hopes of racing, or a current lean, mean, race winning champion, every single one of them contributes something special to our team.
We breed dogs with the capacity and even more importantly the desire to run and run. They can keep going over extremely long distances at a very fast pace. To make it in the team a dog must be healthy with a good coat, good paws and a great appetite. It’s important that they eat and drink well no matter how tired they are. Most of the dogs on the race team are from our own breedings.
What makes our dogs so strong and happy?
Beyond the excellent blood lines developed at the kennel the dogs have the best food, the best training and the benefit of the musher’s experience. Petter starts his training program long before the snow falls and is an expert in dogs and their behavior.

The history of Sled dogs
The Alaskan Husky: A Sled Dog Built for Endurance
The Alaskan Husky is a remarkable sled dog known for its speed, endurance, and resilience. Unlike purebred dogs, it is a type rather than a distinct breed, selectively bred for performance rather than appearance. Originating from a mix of breeds like the Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute, the Alaskan Husky was developed to excel in the demanding conditions of long-distance mushing.
Medium to large in size, with a lean, athletic build, Alaskan Huskies are designed for endurance. Their coat is typically shorter and less dense, suited for maintaining a cooler body temperature during strenuous activity. These dogs are highly intelligent, friendly, and social, making them excellent team dogs in the world of dog sledding.
Primarily used in long-distance sled races like the Iditarod or the Finnmarkslopet, Alaskan Huskies are renowned for their stamina and ability to perform under extreme conditions. They require significant exercise and mental stimulation, making them best suited for active owners involved in dog sports.
For those with the commitment to meet their needs, Alaskan Huskies offer unparalleled companionship and a hardworking spirit.
